    Having come from Christian Science, I’v taken to ACIM like a duck to water ! It does seem that the ego was around ( 15 billion years ago ) long before human forms appeared on earth. That means we are not ego. We have never separated from the Self as God created us. Therefore there is no reason to be upset about anything. Hurrah !

    When I was doing the lesson, one of my cats was sitting in my lap, purring. So I used that but, when I tried to apply the second part of the lesson, it made no sense that it was a past thought because it was happening “now”. It makes me want to pull my hair out!!!(LOL)

    I think what the Course would say, Verna, is that even when we are thinking about something in the present, that thought is so rooted in the past that it’s just a rehash of the past, just like our present perception of the coffee cup in Lesson 7 is just a reviewing of memories about cups in the past. In other words, even present perceptions are really just memories dressed up as something current.
